MEMBERSHIP POLICY
To keep our membership enjoyable and inclusive, we ask that all members read and uphold the membership policy. This policy includes guidelines for member benefits and our ground rules for keeping the membership impactful while keeping our members safe.
Violation of the policy may result in suspension or revocation of your membership, and we will take other actions as necessary.
REASONABLE ACCOMMODATIONS
MINO is committed to the full inclusion of all qualified prospective and registered members. If you desire reasonable accommodations to complete the Membership Application process, to access our Site and Services, and/or to receive other benefits and privileges of membership, please contact us at membership@joinmino.com.
ELIGIBILITY
MINO is a membership that prepares emerging Black women leaders (early career professionals, new team leaders, mid-level managers, and those new to a role, industry, or function) for senior leadership in corporate, nonprofit and academia, across industry.
In order to be considered for Membership, you must provide us with a completed Membership Application in which you demonstrate strong values of Abundance, Professionalism, Respect, Confidentiality, and Grace, with a desire to support and promote MINO’s mission and vision.
The Membership Application requests certain personal information that you agree to provide to us subject to the terms of our Privacy Policy to enable us to determine whether to accept your Membership Application. Membership Applications are open throughout the year and reviewed on a rolling basis. As part of your Membership Application, you must provide accurate and complete contact information, including:
Your name
Your e-mail address
Your social profile links
Links to personal and professional websites you own
Your current occupation
Your geographical location
How you discovered MINO
Your motivation for joining MINO
Your anticipated contributions to the MINO member community
Your Membership Application must include a headshot. Once you become a member, we use this headshot when featuring you on our website, on social media, or in our weekly newsletter. Submitted headshots must meet the following guidelines—if they do not, we may ask you to submit another photo, or we may reject your application entirely.
Upload a high-resolution photo that is at least 400px wide.
Square photos that center you within the frame (from at least the chest up) work best.
Your headshot should include your face. Please do not attempt to pass off another person's image as your own.
Please do not use a photo that includes other people—we don't have their permission to use it. The only exception is your own children (we love moms over here!). If you do include a photo with your kids, you must also be in the photo, and your face must be prominent in the frame.
No nudity or pornography.
No illegal activity.
No weapons of any kind.
No offensive or obscene gestures.
No bikini, swimwear or underwear/lingerie.
No clothing featuring prominent brand logos, insignias or paraphernalia
No watermarks, text or solicitations (e.g. coupon codes, urls, social media handles) overlaid over headshots.
We may request further information or a meeting (either face-to-face or by phone) in order to decide whether to accept a Membership Application. Acceptance of a Membership shall be at our sole discretion in the furtherance of the values, influence, and reputation of our community and its Members. No reason is required for refusal of any application at any stage, and all information relating to the determination of a Membership Application shall be treated in accordance with the terms of our Privacy Policy.
MEMBERSHIP FEES
If your Membership Application is accepted, you will receive an email with an invoice for your Membership Fee. The Membership Fee must be paid by the deadline in order to join the next upcoming sprint. If the Membership Fee is not paid by the deadline, you may need to reapply to join MINO. The Membership Fee may be paid in four monthly installments of $300, for a total Membership Fee of $1200. The Membership Fee of $1200 may also be paid up front in one single payment.
Once the first installment of the Membership Fee (or the up front payment) has been paid, you will be given access to members-only benefits, including MINO’s private members-only platform and mobile app on Circle. Additional terms may be found in our Terms Of Use.
MEMBER GUIDELINES
Members are required to pay Membership Fees and comply with the Membership Policy, Privacy Policy, Terms Of Use, and all items, herein, which are incorporated by reference. Members are responsible for:
Making all arrangements necessary to have access to the Site, Services, our members-only platform, and our app, including having access to the Internet.
Ensuring that all persons who access the Site through your Internet connection are aware of these Terms of Use and fully comply with them.
To access the Site or Services, you may be asked to provide certain personal/professional information/registration details or other information:
It is a condition of your use of the Site and Services, and you represent and warrant that all the information you provide on the Site and related websites is correct, current and complete.
You agree to keep your contact and personal information current. Members must inform MINO of any change of personal information including email address, social media links, current occupation, credit/debit card in writing via email to membership@joinmino.com.
You agree that all information you provide to register with the Site or otherwise, including but not limited to through the use of any interactive features on the Site, is governed by our Privacy Policy, and you consent to all actions we take with respect to your information consistent with our Privacy Policy.
MINO Members are provided access to MINO’s members-only platform and mobile app. Members are prohibited from copying, reproducing, or distributing copies of any portion of the members-only platform or mobile app to third parties, including non-members. If you are aware of such a breach please notify us by emailing admin@joinmino.com.
As part of the Membership, your information will be automatically added to MINO’s Member Directory on Circle. The Member Directory may include your name, headshot, social profile links, links to personal and professional websites, current occupation, geographical location, reasons for joining MINO, and your expected contributions to the community.
Members who access the Member Directory may seek to communicate with other Members on the Directory via our members-only platform, our mobile app, or via social media, but Members can decide not to communicate with other Members who seek to contact them through the Directory. MINO asks Members to focus outreach to other Members (1) in the MINO app on Circle, and (2) based on an invitation to connect and/or interests/needs voiced by the other party.
We reserve the right to withdraw or amend access to the Site, and any service or material we provide on the Site, in our sole discretion without notice. We will not be liable if for any reason all or any part of the Site is unavailable at any time or for any period. From time to time, we may restrict access to some parts of the Site, members-only platform, or mobile app, to users, including registered Members.
MINO also prohibits direct solicitation outside of designated areas on our members-only platform and the MINO app on Circle—including requesting donations, selling and promotion of services, products, and events—and asks Members to report such behavior by reaching out through email to membership@joinmino.com.
You must notify us via e-mail at admin@joinmino.com immediately of any breach of security or unauthorized use of your Accounts or Passwords. You should never publish, distribute, share, or post login information for your Accounts.
REFUNDS
Fees will be refunded upon request at 100% of payment before the service period begins. Refunds are issued upon request to membership@joinmino.com.
We will refund you and void outstanding invoices within the first 30 days of your service period if you have fully participated in all coaching sessions, classes, and coursework and are dissatisfied with the Service. Refunds are issued upon request to membership@joinmino.com.
We will refund you in case your order was canceled by us after your credit card or other payment method has been charged.
Otherwise, payments are nonrefundable and refunds will not be provided. Additional terms may be found in our Terms Of Use.
CANCELATIONS
Voluntary Cancelations
You may terminate your Membership at any time during the Membership period prior to the start of a new Membership period.
When you cancel your Membership, and your current Membership cycle ends:
You will no longer have access to the Site, Service, members-only platform, mobile app, or any of MINO’s Member benefits (including but not limited to the Member Directory, members-only newsletters, and members-only gatherings).
Once you have canceled Membership, if you have not received a refund, and assuming there is no conflict of interest (to be decided at MINO's discretion), you may continue to have access to Site and Service until your current Membership cycle ends (Membership cycle is determined by your Membership Start Date and Membership End Date). To rejoin MINO after your membership is canceled, you will need to re-apply, unless otherwise discussed with MINO, and higher Membership Fees may apply.
INVoluntary Cancelations
Members may be warned, suspended or removed from coaching sessions, classes, the private MINO community, or other MINO-related service or event and have their Membership terminated, including access to the all features of the Site, the Service, our members-only platform, and our app, for the following:
Failure to pay Membership Fees.
A breach of the letter and/or spirit of MINO’s Terms of Use, including this Membership Policy.
If MINO considers in its absolute discretion that the conduct of a member is contrary to the interests of the community.
Any member removed from Membership, for whatsoever reason, shall forfeit all privileges and benefits of Membership and all rights against MINO, and shall not be entitled to a refund of any Membership Fees paid prior to involuntary cancelation.
MINO is not obliged to provide reasons for sanctions decisions, including involuntary cancelation, and any deliberations and other information on the same shall be maintained in strict confidence.
Complaints Procedure
Member complaints shall be made in writing to MINO via email at membership@joinmino.com, and the resolution of complaints shall be at the sole discretion of MINO.
ENTIRE AGREEMENT
The Terms of Use, our Privacy Policy and the Membership Policy constitute the sole and entire agreement between you and MINO with respect to the Site, the Service, our members-only platform, and our app, and supersede all prior and contemporaneous understandings, agreements, representations and warranties, both written and oral, with respect to the Site, the Service, our members-only platform, and our app, and is binding on any successors and assigns of MINO.
